Jeremy Stephens
Associate Attorney
Jeremy Stephens is an Associate federal employment attorney representing federal employees in all areas of employment litigation, including retirement claims filed with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims arising from discrimination based on age, race, gender, disability, retaliation, and sexual harassment. Mr. Stephens also represents federal employees in disciplinary actions appealed to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Since joining Melville Johnson, P.C. in 2019, Mr. Stephens has continued to gather knowledge and mentorship from the senior associates in the Firm.

Mr. Stephens was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. He received his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, and a B.A. in Mass Communication and Political Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. During his time in law school, Mr. Stephens served as teh Student Bar Association President, Student Ambassador for teh New York City Bar Association, and was an active member of Street Law, helping to educate high school students throughout the Newark area of their legal rights.

Mr. Stephens also collaborated with the City of Newark and Mayor Ras Baraka during his time at Rutgers Law to establish a partnership between Rutgers Law School and the City of Newark for criminal justice reform, and to decrease poverty. Mr. Stephens interned with the City of NEwark's Corporation Counsel during his 3L year, assisting in the drafting of city ordinances in multiple facets of the city's fabric. Mr. Stephens often traveled between Newark and New York City to embark on additional internship opportunities during this time, and was a Big Brother in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of New Jersey Program.

Mr. Stephens is a current member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of New York, teh New YorkCity Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Gate City Bar Association. In his free time he enjoys writing music, following real estate development, and spending quality time with his family.
